GGToor MTG Arena Duel #14

“Saturday. Over 130 players. $500 prize pool. Here we had GGToor’s MTG Arena Duel #14 – with a metagame consisting of mostly Jeskai Hinata and Grixis Vampires (close to one quarter of the field), another quarter on other Tier 2 decks and almost half of the field on “other” decks. The Top 8 was very representative of that: 3 Jeskai Hinata, 2 Grixis Vampires, and one of each Mono White Aggro, Boros Aggro and Orzhov Midrange. Some known names, like brazilian former GGToor’s winner Hélio Sampaio, and some recurring names like Vinicius Marques de Castro and Andres Monsalve. But on the end of the day, the final matchup was between the two major decks forces: Zachary Okorn’s Jeskai Hinata against Andres Monsalve’s Grixis Vampires. “Goldspan Dragon” and “coming off the top” was the great duo of the night, though. It happened a few times on camera for Zachary, and it was indeed decisive for some of his big wins today. But on the final game of the day, it was time for the key card for the deck to shine: Hinata, Dawn-Crowned flied through blockers and interaction to finish a slower start on Monsalve’s side, making it two GGToor’s tournaments in a row taken by the Jeskai legend! Congratulations to Zachary Okorn and his Jeskai Hinata Deck, the champions of GGToor MTG Arena Duel and two hundred dollars richer today!”
