Tier list of decks!
Standard, Explorer and Historic Tier list.
Hello Everybody, Gyba here.
Today I brought you a couple of Tierlists for Explorer, Historic and Standard formats.
Are you new to the format? Got tired of playing on your kitchen’s table and wanted to do some more powerfull stuff? Or maybe you decided that this month with be your mythic month and wonder what deck you should pick up? I got you covered.
My goal was to not only provide you some informations about the power levels of decks but also tried to mention different archetypes among the same strength so that regardless of your playstyle you might find a decent deck that serves you well.
Legend:
Tier S= the single or arguably single best deck of the format
Tier A= Great choice and one of the strongest piles in the format
Tier B= Good deck, maybe not the strongest one, sometimes a meta call or a good but unrefined strategy
Tier C= Fringe, Glass cannon or not simply not as strong of the options not recommended for maximizing the overall win rate
STANDARD
Let’s kick it off with the only paper format of those three and the one that I’ve been playing the most in my 10 years long mtg career, Standard.
Tier S+++
Jeskai Hinata. Anybody who has played standard in the last few weeks knows this deck, and probably faced it a lot, and that’s for a reason. The deck itself is a W-U-R colors control deck with a lot of interaction in the form of various counterspells and removal. While dealing with opponent’s threats it digs deeper into library with amazing card advantage engines Like Fable of the Mirror-Breaker and Expressive Iteration eventually outpowering opponent with a two card combo: Hinata, Dawn-Crowned and very powerful spell Magma Opus, because of Hinata’s ability this incredible but extremely pricy spell can cost low as UR mana generating incredible tempo swings. That combined with 8 copies of 4 power flying creatures is often enoguh to end the game, Deck is the king of midrange-control strategies, can win with anything and is incredibly hard to prey up on which is why it is the best and the most popular pile of cards in the format.
